


When the Battle's O'er
As the 25th September 1915 draws to a close, in the uncertain surroundings of the newly established Hill 70 redoubt, one of the remaining soldiers of 10/Cameronians begins to process what he has been through and the loss of so many friends and comrades.
Of the 253 men of the battalion killed that day -including my Great, Great Uncle Charles Trench - only 11 have known graves.
